The Thorson PTO is a non-profit organization comprising a group of parents, teachers, and staff dedicated to supporting Thorson teachers, administration staff, students, families, and community members. We fund events, provide supplies, organize volunteers, and do much more. We are run entirely by volunteers and always welcome your involvement!
What Does the PTO Do?
Membership Allows You To:
Attending PTO meetings gives you an inside view of what's happening at our school; when you volunteer, you promote a supportive relationship with the school community while participating in some of your student's favorite events!
What Does the PTO Do?
- Plans, manages, and executes a variety of student & family enrichment, fundraising, teacher appreciation, and community outreach programs, events, and activities!
- PTO Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month @ 7 p.m. in the Thorson Community Room
- Agendas and Meeting minutes are distributed in the “Weekly Notes” email
- Attendance is not mandatory; come whenever you can!
- Volunteer opportunities are available but not required or expected
Membership Allows You To:
- Vote at PTO Meetings on essential topics
- Become a Chair or Co-Chair of PTO Committees or Events
- Receive a copy of the 2024/25 Thorson Student Directory (“The Buzz Book”)
- Stay “In the Know” on School Activities and Events
